The racecourse is only a seven-minute walk from the station, with directions clearly signposted. It’s also easily accessible by car, wherever you’re coming from. If travelling from London, the north or the midlands, exit the M4 at junction 6 and aim for the A332 Windsor bypass to Ascot.

The ultimate guide to the 2025 Chelsea Flower Show

Spring is officially here! The sun is shining, the flowers are blooming and the organisers of the 2025 Chelsea Flower Show are working around the clock to bring us yet another showpiece event.

Once again, the Royal Horticultural Society is putting on a five-day flower extravaganza, celebrating the best gardeners, flower arrangers and all round green-fingered experts on the planet.

The event has been a British tradition since the 1860s, before it was officially named the Chelsea Flower Show back in 1912. Since then, it has grown into a global phenomenon, with thousands of people flocking to Kensington each year and even more enjoying it on TV.

As well as showing off incredible displays of horticultural excellence, the show also offers tips to budding gardeners, with demonstrations on how to make the most from your outdoor space, whether it’s a balcony or a smaller garden.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a gardener with 50 years of experience or you’ve never even picked up a pair of gardening gloves, there really is something for everyone to enjoy at the Chelsea Flower Show.

There are plenty of awards to be handed out across the week. Gardeners putting on displays can be awarded Gold, Silver-gilt, Silver or Bronze in each of the categories. Apart from feature gardens, all gardens at the show are judged, including exhibits in the Great Pavilion.

As well as the judged categories, there are also the People’s Choice Awards each year. Visitors can vote for their favourite gardens as they wander round the event, with three categories for the public to vote in.

When is the 2025 Chelsea Flower Show?

This year’s event gets underway on Tuesday 20th May, running for five days until the weekend. The first two days are only for RHS members, with the public allowed to buy tickets from day three.

●    Day 1 – Tuesday 20th May
●    Day 2 – Wednesday 21st May
●    Day 3 – Thursday 22nd May
●    Day 4 – Friday 23rd May
●    Day 5 – Saturday 24th May

Hospitality at the 2025 Chelsea Flower Show

As the Chelsea Flower Show is such a glamorous, high-profile event, we’re proud to offer a range of hospitality packages that allow our guests to enjoy the festivities in style. You’ll be able to enjoy a day of taking in the stunning displays before indulging in delicious food, complimentary drinks and plenty more.

We offer two different hospitality options, one of which is in the morning, with the other available in the afternoon and evening.

Chelsea Flower Show dress code

With lots of walking around expected, the dress code isn’t overly formal in order to keep guests comfortable. A smart-casual look with a combination of polished garments and casual elements is ideal.

With guests often treading across grass, we’d recommend ladies don’t wear stiletto heels to avoid getting caught in the ground.

How to get there

The Chelsea Flower Show takes place in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, right next to the banks of the River Thames. It’s easily accessible from anywhere in London, with Sloane Square the closest underground station. It’s on the Circle and District lines and is around a 10 minute walk away.

Victoria is the closest mainline train station and is just a short bus journey away. If you’re planning on driving, we recommend pre-booking a parking spot in Battersea Park, which is just the other side of the Thames. You’ll then be able to take the shuttle bus that runs all day. The bus is also open to those not using the car park.

And if you’re planning on dressing to impress, why not go full James Bond and arrive by boat? Uber Boat and Thames Clipper services run throughout the day, with drop-offs at Cadogan Pier and Battersea Power Station.

Everything you need to know about the Grand National

Good news, horse racing fans! While you may still be feeling the blues of Cheltenham being over for another year, it’s only a week until this year’s Grand National festival gets underway.

Cheltenham may be the Christmas of horse racing but the Grand National is arguably the biggest race in the world. It’s the headline event of the iconic three-day event at Aintree, which takes place from Thursday 3rd to Saturday 5th April this year.

All eyes will be on the main event, which sets off at 4pm on the Saturday. Around 150,000 spectators will flock to Liverpool to watch the race, while a further 600 million across the globe are expected to tune in and enjoy it on TV.

It was first run way back in 1839 and covers an official distance of around four miles and two-and-a-half furlongs. Some of the greatest racehorses on the planet will compete over 30 fences as they battle for a £1 million prize fund.

Red Rum still holds the record for the most Grand National wins with three, having stormed to victory in 1973, 1974 and 1977. Last year’s race was won by I Am Maximus, with Paul Townend riding Willie Mullins’ first Grand National winner since Hedgehunter in 2005.

Who are this year’s favourites?

There are currently 34 horses set to start this year’s Grand National – but there can only be one winner. I Am Maximus was the favourite last year and he repaid the punters’ faith in him by storming to glory.

And while he’s looking to emulate Red Rum and Tiger Roll by securing back-to-back wins this year, it may be beyond him following disappointing showings in his two runs since last year’s triumph.

Intense Raffles is the market leader one week out after winning the Irish Grand National last year. He’s regularly impressed at Fairyhouse, including a second place finish in the Bobbyjo Chase, and he’ll be looking to replicate that form at Aintree.

Elsewhere, Iroko is expected to challenge following a good showing in last year’s Mildmay Chase, where only Gold Cup winner Inothewayurthinkin beat him. Stumptown could be a contender, while Willie Mullins’ Minella Cocooner has an outside chance after finishing third in the Irish Grand National.

Grand National dress code

The Grand National is the perfect opportunity to dress to impress, although the dress code isn’t hugely strict. Aintree racecourse encourages smart casual wear, with no offensive fancy dress or sports team colours or kits allowed.

How to get there

For those driving, you can reach Aintree recourse via the A59, which is just a mile from the M57 and M58. From the A59 to Liverpool, follow the yellow signs to the car parks – spaces can be booked in advance online.

The closest train station is Aintree, which is opposite the racecourse. It’s just seven minutes from Liverpool Central, with frequent Merseyrail services.

Cheltenham Festival 2025: Everything you need to know

Saddle up! Winter is just about behind us but for racing fans up and down the country, Christmas is coming very early this year. That’s because we’re just a few days away from the 2025 Cheltenham Festival.

One of the biggest racing events on the planet is returning to sunny Gloucestershire next Tuesday, with four days of top-class action to look forward to. The world’s best horses and jockeys are set to compete across 28 races, with plenty of familiar faces ready for battle.

Paul Townend and Galopin Des Champs are targeting a hat-trick in the Cheltenham Gold Cup. Meanwhile, Nicky Henderson’s Constitution Hill has his eyes on the prize in the Champion Hurdle, although they’ll face stiff competition from Brighterdaysahead.

There are countless iconic races scheduled at Cheltenham, including the Queen Mother Champion Chase and the Stayers’ Hurdle. And you can enjoy all of the action from the best seats in the house in our exclusive ICON facility.

As well as a day out enjoying top-class racing and impeccable views from the balcony, you’ll also be able to make the most of a champagne reception, a complimentary bar and a four-course premium lunch. Plus, expert tipsters will be on hand to help you place your bets and (hopefully!) win you some money.

The fun starts on Tuesday and as the excitement builds, we’ve put together the ultimate guide of everything you need to know, as well as a handy tip for some of the big races (prices correct as of Tuesday 4th March).

Who are the favourites?

Galopin des Champs remains the bookies’ favourite for the Gold Cup, with Banbridge the current likely challenger. Meanwhile, Jonbon is odds-on to claim the Champion Chase as he looks to end his Cheltenham curse – all three of his defeats have come on the famous course.

Kopek Des Bordes is the runaway favourite to claim the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle, with Willie Mullins expecting him to go well. Elsewhere, Teahupoo is expected to lead the pack in the Stayers Hurdle.

While many of the biggest races have a clear favourite, the same can’t be said of the Coral Cup. Kopek De Mee is edging the bookies’ choices at the moment, although it’s an open field and Be Aware, Wodhooh and Impose Toi aren’t too far behind.

Cheltenham Festival dress code

As it’s a day out of the races, you’re encouraged to dress your best but unlike Royal Ascot, the dress code is fairly relaxed. If you’re joining us in our hospitality areas, there are some rules.

Men must be wearing a jacket and tie or a suit. Ladies will need to be dressed in smart day wear – hats are optional.

Getting to Cheltenham

The closest train station is Cheltenham Spa, which is around four miles from the racecourse. You’re more than welcome to channel your inner Desert Orchid and gallop to the track – although we’d recommend jumping in a taxi or taking the shuttle bus service, which costs £5.

Those driving from the north should exit the M5 at junction 9 and continue via Evesham Road (A435). Take a left into Southam Lane and enter the North Car Park via entrance 10. If you’re coming from the south, leave the M5 at junction 11, follow the A40 and A4013 and the signs for ‘Green Route’ will take you to the racecourse.

RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2025

After a wonderful event in 2024, showcasing some of the best nature that Britain has to offer, the RHS Chelsea Flower Show will be back in 2025. The world-renowned flower show is back for another year with beautiful flowers on show and delicious food and drink produced in an environmentally friendly way.

This Spring, Engage will be hosting some fantastic hospitality options for you to enjoy Chelsea Flower Show and in this blog we talk you through what to expect, when it is and the brilliant hospitality packages available.

What is the RHS Chelsea Flower Show?

The RHS Chelsea Flower Show is a Spring flower show held every May taking place across five days. Beginning in 1862, it originally took place at venues including Kensington and Temple Gardens before moving to Chelsea in 1912. Since then, this wonderful show of nature, often named as the Great Spring Show, has taken place every year in the Royal Hospital Chelsea grounds.

The Flower Show is attended by 157,000 visitors every year and is presented on national television while new plants are displayed as well as varieties of old ones. It is also renowned for its visits from the Royal Family with the Queen having been a big supporter of the event throughout her lifetime, while King Charles III and Queen Camilla visited in 2024.

Designers and Gardeners will battle it out each year in an attempt to win awards for their displays including competitions from floral exhibits to exhibits of scientific interest . They are graded in four ways: gold, silver-gilt, silver and bronze.

When does it take place?

The RHS Chelsea Flower Show takes place every Spring in the month of May with five days of stunning nature in store. In 2025 the show will take place from Tuesday 20th to Saturday 24th May with something for everyone to enjoy. From Tuesday to Thursday the show will open from 8am-8pm, 8am-10:30pm on Friday with Saturday rounding off the event from 8am-5:30pm.

Although the flower show doesn’t have a strict dress code, there is a smart casual approach to the event. Consider wearing smart clothing that is comfortable such as a collared shirt for men or a day-dress for women, being mindful of the fluctuating British weather!

If you’re a vegetable gardener, revel in the Knightian award category for exhibits of vegetables and herbs. Perhaps you’re a fan of floral arrangements and want to immerse yourself in the Grenfell award for exhibits of pictures, floristry and photographs! With something that all gardening fans can get involved in, you don’t want to miss this!

Day 1 – Wednesday 28th August

The opening day of the prestigious event immediately gives the lucky guests an early view of the Concours cars. They’ll be able to meet the owners, find out more information about the vehicles and pick out their favourites ahead of the awards.

Later in the day, the Concours Awards Parade will take place and the awards will be handed out. As ever, if you take advantage of our exclusive hospitality packages, you’ll be able to enjoy the day with a glass of champagne or two and some incredible food.

Day 2 – Thursday 29th August

Day 3 – Friday 30th August

Salon Privé Blenheim is as classy as it comes and while all eyes will be on the cars, guests love to look at their best as well. Friday is all about style, with attendees traditionally expected to dust off their best threads and dress to impress.

Ladies are encouraged to wear elegant hats, headpieces or fascinators. While it’s not as prestigious as winning a Concours Award, some lucky fashionistas will be honoured in the traditional ‘Best Hat’ competition.

Day 4 – Saturday 31st August

Day four is the final day of the event but it is by no means the least. Dubbed ‘Supercar Saturday’, some of the finest automobiles on the planet will be spread across both the north and south lawns at Blenheim Palace.

In fact, more than 1,500 privately-owned sports, super and hyper cars will be on display for all the car enthusiasts to take a peak at. Plus, the Salon Privé club trophy will be paraded on the final day.

Salon Privé dress code

As Salon Privé Blenheim is a classy event, guests are expected to look presentable. However, the organisers also understand the need for comfort when walking around all day. Those in attendance should wear dressy yet relaxed clothes – there’s a desire for them to look sophisticated without being too formal.

Gentlemen are encouraged to wear a comfortable suit or a blazer with chinos. Ladies should don chic, comfortable daywear, with items including summer dresses, trousers and jumpsuits suggested. They’re also advised to avoid stiletto heels due to the gravel paths and lawns.

Everything you need to know about the British Grand Prix

We’re edging towards the mid-point of the Formula One season, which can only mean one thing – the British Grand Prix is just around the corner. As the flagship event in British motorsport returns, thousands of racing fans will flock to Northamptonshire hoping to catch a glimpse of the best drivers in the world.

Max Verstappen finally won here in 2023 and he’s the favourite to do so again as he targets another championship-winning season. But he’ll have plenty of competitors looking to stand in his way, with a trio of British stars ready to pounce on any mistakes.

This year’s British Grand Prix takes place on Sunday 7th July, with qualifying on the Friday and Saturday. Ahead of the action, here’s everything you need to know.

The F1 season so far

After racing to glory last year, Verstappen is targeting a fourth consecutive Formula One title. He’s currently on top after another blistering start to the campaign, although it hasn’t been quite as one-sided as before.

Yet Verstappen has still won seven of the 10 races so far, including the most recent two in Canada and Spain. This time last year he’d won eight, so he’s not exactly slowed down, although he appears to have stronger competition this time around.

Carlos Sainz Jr and Charles Leclerc have won a race apiece, as has Lando Norris, who claimed his first ever Grand Prix victory in Miami last month. Next up is Austria, before the British Grand Prix returns to Silverstone next weekend. Verstappen won it for the first time last year and he’s looking to secure back-to-back wins in the iconic British race.

Can a British driver win on home soil?

There’s a decent chance – but they’ll need Verstappen to have an off day. A trio of British drivers have been showing solid form of late. Norris’ maiden win in Miami was just reward for his strong start to the campaign. The McLaren star has five other podium finishes so far, including second place in each of the last two races.

The most recent Grand Prix took place in Spain and following up Norris in second was Lewis Hamilton in third and George Russell in fourth. Russell came third the week before in Canada, while it was Hamilton’s first podium finish of the year.

The eight-time champion is coming into form at the right time if he wants to claim a record ninth British Grand Prix win. Hamilton is looking to win at Silverstone for the first time since 2021 but he’ll face stiff competition, particularly as Verstappen appears to have put a rare lapse behind him that saw him uncharacteristically finish way back in sixth in Monaco a month ago.

Hospitality at the British Grand Prix

We’re set for yet another thrilling weekend at Silverstone next weekend and if you fancy being part of the action, you can enjoy the race from the best seats in the house. Once again, our ICON facility offers unrivalled views of the track. Our exclusive hospitality package brings you up close, giving you grandstand seats with views of the Maggots and Becketts combination as well as the expanding hairpin of Aintree, leading into the Wellington Straight.

You’ll be treated like royalty in our exclusive suite, with breakfast on arrival, a gourmet lunch and afternoon tea, as well as a full complimentary bar and snacks throughout the day. Plus, you won’t miss a second of the action, with TV screens throughout the facility, a personal Silverstone radio and an official programme.

Guests will also be treated to a VIP hostess service, guest speakers from the world of F1, prize draws, competitions and plenty more. As well as our ICON facility, we also offer four other hospitality suites to cater to your needs. If you want to enjoy a day at the racing with a little bit of luxury, enquire today to book your place for the British Grand Prix.

Dress code

The dress code at Silverstone is fairly relaxed as we appreciate it can be a long day and the weather is normally pretty warm (fingers crossed!). Guests are encouraged to dress in smart casual wear, with no ripped denim, sportswear or sports trainers allowed.

How to get to Silverstone

For those driving from the north, Silverstone is around an hour south of Birmingham. From the M1, take the A43 dual carriageway and follow the signs. Similarly, from London, take the M40 and then A43 – it’s around a 90 minute journey from the capital. Car parks open up to half an hour before the gates open.

If you’re coming by public transport, Wolverton is the closest train station and offers direct services to and from London Euston, Birmingham New Street and Northampton. Wolverton is around 10 miles away from the track – bus and taxi services are available.
