RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2025

After a wonderful event in 2024, showcasing some of the best nature that Britain has to offer, the RHS Chelsea Flower Show will be back in 2025. The world-renowned flower show is back for another year with beautiful flowers on show and delicious food and drink produced in an environmentally friendly way.

This Spring, Engage will be hosting some fantastic hospitality options for you to enjoy Chelsea Flower Show and in this blog we talk you through what to expect, when it is and the brilliant hospitality packages available.

What is the RHS Chelsea Flower Show?

The RHS Chelsea Flower Show is a Spring flower show held every May taking place across five days. Beginning in 1862, it originally took place at venues including Kensington and Temple Gardens before moving to Chelsea in 1912. Since then, this wonderful show of nature, often named as the Great Spring Show, has taken place every year in the Royal Hospital Chelsea grounds.

The Flower Show is attended by 157,000 visitors every year and is presented on national television while new plants are displayed as well as varieties of old ones. It is also renowned for its visits from the Royal Family with the Queen having been a big supporter of the event throughout her lifetime, while King Charles III and Queen Camilla visited in 2024.

Designers and Gardeners will battle it out each year in an attempt to win awards for their displays including competitions from floral exhibits to exhibits of scientific interest . They are graded in four ways: gold, silver-gilt, silver and bronze.

When does it take place?

The RHS Chelsea Flower Show takes place every Spring in the month of May with five days of stunning nature in store. In 2025 the show will take place from Tuesday 20th to Saturday 24th May with something for everyone to enjoy. From Tuesday to Thursday the show will open from 8am-8pm, 8am-10:30pm on Friday with Saturday rounding off the event from 8am-5:30pm.

Although the flower show doesn’t have a strict dress code, there is a smart casual approach to the event. Consider wearing smart clothing that is comfortable such as a collared shirt for men or a day-dress for women, being mindful of the fluctuating British weather!

If you’re a vegetable gardener, revel in the Knightian award category for exhibits of vegetables and herbs. Perhaps you’re a fan of floral arrangements and want to immerse yourself in the Grenfell award for exhibits of pictures, floristry and photographs! With something that all gardening fans can get involved in, you don’t want to miss this!

Everything you need to know about the British Grand Prix

We’re edging towards the mid-point of the Formula One season, which can only mean one thing – the British Grand Prix is just around the corner. As the flagship event in British motorsport returns, thousands of racing fans will flock to Northamptonshire hoping to catch a glimpse of the best drivers in the world.

Max Verstappen finally won here in 2023 and he’s the favourite to do so again as he targets another championship-winning season. But he’ll have plenty of competitors looking to stand in his way, with a trio of British stars ready to pounce on any mistakes.

This year’s British Grand Prix takes place on Sunday 7th July, with qualifying on the Friday and Saturday. Ahead of the action, here’s everything you need to know.

The F1 season so far

After racing to glory last year, Verstappen is targeting a fourth consecutive Formula One title. He’s currently on top after another blistering start to the campaign, although it hasn’t been quite as one-sided as before.

Yet Verstappen has still won seven of the 10 races so far, including the most recent two in Canada and Spain. This time last year he’d won eight, so he’s not exactly slowed down, although he appears to have stronger competition this time around.

Carlos Sainz Jr and Charles Leclerc have won a race apiece, as has Lando Norris, who claimed his first ever Grand Prix victory in Miami last month. Next up is Austria, before the British Grand Prix returns to Silverstone next weekend. Verstappen won it for the first time last year and he’s looking to secure back-to-back wins in the iconic British race.

Can a British driver win on home soil?

There’s a decent chance – but they’ll need Verstappen to have an off day. A trio of British drivers have been showing solid form of late. Norris’ maiden win in Miami was just reward for his strong start to the campaign. The McLaren star has five other podium finishes so far, including second place in each of the last two races.

The most recent Grand Prix took place in Spain and following up Norris in second was Lewis Hamilton in third and George Russell in fourth. Russell came third the week before in Canada, while it was Hamilton’s first podium finish of the year.

The eight-time champion is coming into form at the right time if he wants to claim a record ninth British Grand Prix win. Hamilton is looking to win at Silverstone for the first time since 2021 but he’ll face stiff competition, particularly as Verstappen appears to have put a rare lapse behind him that saw him uncharacteristically finish way back in sixth in Monaco a month ago.

Hospitality at the British Grand Prix

We’re set for yet another thrilling weekend at Silverstone next weekend and if you fancy being part of the action, you can enjoy the race from the best seats in the house. Once again, our ICON facility offers unrivalled views of the track. Our exclusive hospitality package brings you up close, giving you grandstand seats with views of the Maggots and Becketts combination as well as the expanding hairpin of Aintree, leading into the Wellington Straight.

You’ll be treated like royalty in our exclusive suite, with breakfast on arrival, a gourmet lunch and afternoon tea, as well as a full complimentary bar and snacks throughout the day. Plus, you won’t miss a second of the action, with TV screens throughout the facility, a personal Silverstone radio and an official programme.

Guests will also be treated to a VIP hostess service, guest speakers from the world of F1, prize draws, competitions and plenty more. As well as our ICON facility, we also offer four other hospitality suites to cater to your needs. If you want to enjoy a day at the racing with a little bit of luxury, enquire today to book your place for the British Grand Prix.

Dress code

The dress code at Silverstone is fairly relaxed as we appreciate it can be a long day and the weather is normally pretty warm (fingers crossed!). Guests are encouraged to dress in smart casual wear, with no ripped denim, sportswear or sports trainers allowed.

How to get to Silverstone

For those driving from the north, Silverstone is around an hour south of Birmingham. From the M1, take the A43 dual carriageway and follow the signs. Similarly, from London, take the M40 and then A43 – it’s around a 90 minute journey from the capital. Car parks open up to half an hour before the gates open.

If you’re coming by public transport, Wolverton is the closest train station and offers direct services to and from London Euston, Birmingham New Street and Northampton. Wolverton is around 10 miles away from the track – bus and taxi services are available.

Everything you need to know about the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2024

If you’re a fan of beautiful gardens, stunning flower displays and vibrant events with a relaxed atmosphere, we’ve got some good news – it’s almost time for the Chelsea Flower Show!

The iconic event put on by the Royal Horticultural Society is a British tradition and ahead of the five-day celebration, here’s everything you need to know.

What is the Chelsea Flower Show?

Simply put, the Chelsea Flower Show is a celebration of all things horticulture, offering the best flower and gardening displays the world has to offer. There’s something for everyone, whether you’re a flower expert, a budding gardener, or you simply just enjoy strolling through beautiful nature displays.

One of the most prestigious events in British culture, the Chelsea Flower Show was first held more than 100 years ago way back in 1912. It had previously been known as the Great Spring Show, starting out in Kensington 1862 before moving to the Temple Gardens.

Since the move to Chelsea, it’s established itself as a staple in the calendar for all gardening and flower enthusiasts, with the royal family among the show’s admirers. Royal members regularly attend the event, including the late Queen Elizabeth II, who last visited two years ago.

The Chelsea Flower show attracts more than 157,000 visitors every single year as enthusiastic attendees travel from all over the country. While the first two days are strictly for RHS members, the remainder of the event is open to anybody.

When is the Chelsea Flower Show?

The prettiest event of the year takes place over five days and truly marks the end of spring. The Chelsea Flower Show gets underway on Tuesday 21st May and comes to a close on Saturday 25th May.

Gardeners from all over the world will present their displays in a number of different categories. Judges will cast their eyes over the offerings, awarding their favourites with gold, silver gilt, silver and bronze medals.

As well as these winners, there will also be plenty of special awards handed out across the week. Visitors can enjoy a number of different areas throughout the show, with the main attraction being the Floral Marquee, housing gardens designed by some of the biggest names in horticulture.

Hospitality packages

If you fancy heading to the Chelsea Flower Show this year, why not treat yourself and enjoy the event in style?

Chef Patron Skye Gyngell, who is one of Britain’s most renowned chefs, has put together a delicious bespoke menu, with food served throughout the private chalets. You can take a seat at shared tables or entertain guests from the comfort of a private area.

The hospitality areas are located in the Spring Garden, with three different packages on offer.

Spring Meridian: A daytime package that offers a light breakfast, four-course lunch and afternoon tea. Refresh yourself in the garden bar with champagne and hand-crafted cocktails and enjoy entertainment from the pianist and live band.

Spring Nocture Dinner: An evening package that provides you with a champagne and canape reception, as well as a four-course dinner and access to the garden bar. A roaming band will provide the evening entertainment as guests can visit the fromagerie station.

Spring Nocture Tasting Dishes: This package is similar to the dining experience, except with delicious tasting dishes in place of the evening meal. Guests will receive champagne and canapes, as well as the chance to access the garden bar and fromagerie station.

Chelsea Flower Show dress code

While the Chelsea Flower Show is traditionally a classy affair, its relaxed atmosphere means there isn’t a hugely strict dress code. Visitors are encouraged to adopt a smart casual look, combining polished and refined garments with casual elements.

With members of the royal family often in attendance, guests often use the opportunity to dress to impress with smart attire.

How to get there

The event takes place in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea and is easily accessible by tube. The closest underground station is Sloane Square, which is on the Circle and District lines and is just a 10 minute walk away.

Meanwhile, the nearest main train station is Victoria which offers several bus routes to the venue. For those wishing to drive, it is recommended that you pre-book a parking spot in nearby Battersea Park. From there you’ll be able to take a shuttle bus (which is also open to those not using the car park), with services running throughout the day.

Everything you need to know about the Grand National 2024

The world will be watching Aintree on Saturday afternoon as some of horse racing’s biggest stars go head-to-head in the Grand National. While all eyes will understandably be on the iconic showpiece race, the three-day festival gets underway on Thursday.

Racing fans both in Liverpool and watching on TV will be treated to 21 thrilling races, with hundreds of horses and jockeys looking to make a name for themselves. Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the event.

The Grand National

Having first taken place in 1839, the Grand National has become one of the world’s most prestigious races over the last 185 years. Run over around 4 miles and 2 ½ furlongs, horses will need to navigate 30 testing fences before reaching the winning post.

Countless famous horses and jockeys have been victorious in the race over the years, with Red Rum arguably the most well known of all. The Irish horse notably won back-to-back races in 1973 and 1974, before coming back to complete the hat-trick in 1977. Remarkably, Red Rum finished second in the two intervening years.

Following animal rights protests disrupting the race last year, there have been a number of changes implemented to ensure the safety of the horses. The field has been reduced from 40 to a maximum of 34, which minimises the risk of horses falling.

The race will now begin from a standing start instead of a rolling one, while the first fence has also been brought forward slightly. Both of these measures will reduce the speed of the horses during the start of the race. Similarly, fence 11 has been reduced in height, as has the drop on the landing side.

This year’s Grand National will get underway at 4pm, rather than the traditional 5:15pm start. Reigning champion Corach Rambler is looking to become the first horse to secure back-to-back nationals since Tiger Roll five years ago.

Derek Fox rode to victory a year ago, edging 2 ½ lengths clear of runner-up Vanillier, who is back to try and go one better than last time out. The pair will face stiff competition from the Willie Mullins trained I Am Maximus, who won the Irish Grand National in 2023.

While the Salon Privé is a high-end event, they prefer to keep things relaxed and encourage a sophisticated dress code without being too formal. Gentlemen are advised to wear a comfortable suit or blazer with chinos, along with a pair of brogues.

Ladies are encouraged to don chic attire like a summer dress, trousers or a jumpsuit. They’re also advised to wear shoes that they can comfortably wear to walk on gravel paths and lawns. For this reason, wearing stiletto heels is not recommended.

Cheltenham Festival dress code

If you’re taking advantage of one of our exclusive hospitality experiences at Cheltenham, please be aware that there is a dress code in operation. Luckily it’s not the same as the jockeys, so leave your silks at home and get ready to dress to impress.

Men must wear a suit or jacket with a tie. Meanwhile, ladies should wear smart attire and while hats are optional (and classy!), they’re not compulsory. Fancy dress is not allowed.

Getting to Cheltenham

If you’re using public transport, Cheltenham Spa train station is four miles from the racecourse. Don’t worry, there’s no need to walk in your high heels – a shuttle bus service is in operation for £5 return and there are taxis available too.

Those driving from the north should exit the M5 at junction 9 and continue via Evesham Road (A435). Take a left into Southam Lane and enter the North Car Park via entrance 10. If you’re coming from the south, leave the M5 at junction 11, follow the A40 and A4013 and the signs for ‘Green Route’ will take you to the racecourse.

What to wear at all our major 2024 events

We offer exclusive hospitality packages at all of the major sporting events in the UK and we’d love for you to join us. But before you go, be aware that different venues operate their own dress codes. Luckily for you, we’ve put everything you need to know all in one place.

Royal Ascot

The fanciest festival in racing has a strict dress code and for good reason – the royal family often attend Royal Ascot. The policy varies slightly depending on the enclosure but typically, men must wear a matching suit with a shirt and tie, while women should wear a dress or top and skirt with shoulder straps, as well as a hat or fascinator.

No formal dress code is enforced for regular jump race meetings, although you are encouraged to dress in a smart manner.

Henley Royal Regatta

Events don’t get more British than the Henley Royal Regatta, which gives punters the chance to dress to impress. It’s a formal event, with ladies expected to wear dresses or skirts that fall below the knee. Hats are traditionally worn, although they’re not compulsory.

Meanwhile, men should wear lounge suits, or a jacket or blazer with flannels, paired with a collared shirt. Ties are encouraged but not mandatory, while shorts, jeans and trainers are strictly off limits.

Cheltenham

One of horse racing’s most prestigious event returns next month, with thousands of racing fans gearing up for the Cheltenham Festival. Men are required to wear a suit or a jacket and tie, while ladies should don smart wear. Hats are optional but fancy dress is strictly forbidden.

Chelsea Flower Show

Although every year guests flaunt incredible looks, there is no official dress code for the Chelsea Flower Show. Dressing to impress is encouraged at one of Britain’s most prestigious events.

For women, skirts, dresses and trousers are all suitable choices, with floral prints and bright colours popular. As the event is mainly on grass flats or chucky heels are advised.

For men smart casual attire is recommended. Light coloured polo shirts and floral print smart shirts are commonly seen each year. Chinos and linen trousers are also a fan favourite for the bottom half.

Twickenham

The Six Nations comes around again in 2025 and with four Autumn Nations Series games to come later in the year, we know what you’re all thinking: “What do I wear?” Luckily, we’ve got you covered so you won’t look out of place in the home of rugby’s hospitality areas.

Twickenham has a relaxed dress code, meaning you can dress casually. The only rule is that you don’t wear scruffy trainers or ripped jeans. And if you’re there cheering your team on, nobody is going to stop you – you’re more than welcome to wear your favourite rugby shirts and scarves.

Salon Privé

Salon Privé guests do not shy away when it comes to vibrant, glamorous looks. Generally, the dress code at the event is labelled as ‘garden party’ attire, where gentlemen are recommended to wear blazers, chinos and brogues. Ladies should wear chic daywear including summer dress, skirts and trousers. Hats and fascinators may also be required on certain days of the event.

Shorts and T-shirts are not permitted at Salon Privé.

Lord’s

There’s plenty of cricket action to look forward to at Lord’s this summer, including England’s Test matches against the West Indies and Sri Lanka. If you’re watching Bazball from the best seats in the house, the dress code is smart casual. Feel free to wear casual trousers, smart jeans and tailored shorts – just make sure you’re not wearing ripped denim, sports trainers or flip flops.

Wimbledon

Pimms and tennis go hand in hand and you can enjoy plenty of both from our hospitality areas at Wimbledon this summer. There’s no need to splash out on a Ralph Lauren suit to match the umpires – they only operate a smart casual dress code.

Emirates Old Trafford

Is there any better way to celebrate the end of summer than by watching an England Test match at Old Trafford? Watch the cricket in style in Manchester, where they operate a smart casual dress code.

Smart jeans and trainers are allowed but tracksuits, shorts and offensive t-shirts are not. And while it may be just down the road from Manchester United’s iconic stadium, football shirts are also off limits.

Wembley

With England internationals and the FA Cup final to look forward to, Wembley is the place to be to watch football this year. We offer plenty of exclusive hospitality packages, with all areas operating a smart casual policy with no ripped jeans or sports trainers. There’s no official dress code in Club Wembley but you’re not allowed to wear replica shirts.

Silverstone

The British Grand Prix marks the midway point of the F1 season and Lewis Hamilton will be desperate to win at Silverstone for a record ninth time. Join us in hospitality for the best views of the track, where a smart casual dress code applies. Jeans and smart trainers are allowed and if it’s a baking hot day, don’t worry because tailored shorts are also fine.
