The ultimate guide to the 2026 Chinese Grand Prix

While it seems like yesterday that Lando Norris made history by clinching his first-ever F1ÂŽ title, it’s almost time for the brand-new season. The 2026 Formula One World Championship races into action in March and we’ll be there to witness all the highs, the lows and everything in between.

This year, we’ll also have exclusive access to the hospitality suites in the F1ÂŽ Paddock Club at some of the biggest races in the calendar. Take your hospitality experience up a gear and join us for an experience you’ll never forget at the Chinese Grand Prix.

When is the Chinese Grand Prix?

Once again, the Chinese Grand Prix will be the second race in the calendar. It takes place on Sunday 15th March, a week after the traditional curtain-raiser in Australia. The Formula One world will flock to the Shanghai International Circuit, where the race has been held ever since being introduced to the schedule back in 2004. As well as the main event, the Chinese Grand Prix weekend also features a sprint race, adding extra excitement to the event.

While Oscar Piastri ultimately finished third in the standings behind McLaren teammate Norris and Max Verstappen, it was in China where his 2025 season got going. The Australian raced to glory in Shanghai to claim his first win of the campaign and it spawned a run of five wins in six races.

While reigning champion Norris is yet to taste victory in China, the course is no stranger to British triumph. Lewis Hamilton has won the race a record six times, with his last Grand Prix win coming back in 2019.

However, in 2025 he rolled back the years to win the sprint race in China and claim Ferrari’s first ever win in that format. Legendary driver Hamilton struggled in his debut year for his new team after making the move from Mercedes and he’ll be looking to repeat history this year and secure a seventh Chinese Grand Prix win in March.

Everything you need to know about the 2026 Barcelona Grand Prix

Start your engines because the 2026 Formula One World Championship is just weeks away. Following an unforgettable 2025 season, we can’t wait to get straight back into the action – and you’re invited!

Once again, we’ll be offering exclusive hospitality packages to every single Grand Prix around the world. Plus, this year we’re so excited to provide luxury experiences in the F1ÂŽ Paddock Club. Enjoy hospitality like you’ve never seen it before at some of the most anticipated events, including the Barcelona Grand Prix.

When is the Barcelona Grand Prix?

By the time we jet off to Spain, the F1ÂŽ season will be well underway. This year’s Barcelona Grand Prix takes place on Sunday 14th June and as ever, we’re set for a full throttle weekend of racing action. The race takes place at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya and is expected to be the final edition of the Barcelona event.

This year’s Barcelona Grand Prix is the first of two races being held in Spain in the 2026 season. The Spanish Grand Prix is set to take place in Madrid in September, making it the first time two F1ÂŽ races have been in Spain in the same season since 2012.

Last time out, Oscar Piastri raced to glory, finishing ahead of McLaren teammate and eventual champion Lando Norris in second. The Australian’s triumph ended Max Verstappen’s run of three consecutive wins. In fact, 2025 was the first time that somebody other than Verstappen or Lewis Hamilton came out on top in 10 years.

It was Piastri’s fifth Grand Prix win in the opening races and he looked to be in pole position to win his maiden title before Norris ultimately came out on top. Hamilton has triumphed at Barcelona six times in total, which is a record he shares with Michael Schumacher. The British legend last won it in 2021, his fifth on the spin.

This year, Verstappen will be looking to reclaim his Barcelona title. He came 10th last time in a day that summed up his disappointing season. The Red Bull maestro still managed to finish second in the standings but after four years of complete dominance, he fell way below his usual high standards.

The F1ÂŽ Paddock Club

As well as all our usual hospitality options, the 2026 F1ÂŽ season will also see Engage offer exclusive access to the F1ÂŽ Paddock Club. Get the ultimate VIP experience at the Hungarian Grand Prix

There’s nothing quite like the start of a new Formula One season and the 2026 campaign is just around the corner. Lando Norris made history last time out as he held off strong competition from Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri to claim his first ever Drivers’ Championship. The McLaren driver will be looking to defend his crown and we’ll be there every step of the way.

You can join us in Engage’s hospitality areas at every single race on the calendar. Plus, for the first time ever, we’re offering you the chance to join us in the F1ÂŽ Paddock Club. Engage have exclusive access to the best areas at some of the top races – join us at the Hungarian Grand Prix and so many more across the globe in 2026.

When is the Hungarian Grand Prix?

The F1® summer fun continues in Hungary, with this year’s race getting underway on Sunday 26th July. Taking place in a village called Mogyoród on the outskirts of Budapest, fans often make a weekend of it.

The Hungarian Grand Prix was first held in 1936 and became a regular race on the calendar 50 years later. After an extension to the deal, it will remain in the annual schedule until at least 2032.

Much like many other races around the world, Lewis Hamilton holds the record for the most wins. The British legend has won it eight times, double the amount of Michael Schumacher who is next on the list. Hamilton’s last victory came back in 2020 and was his third on the trot.

Those wins from Hamilton contributed to McLaren’s 13 successes in the race, the most of any team. And that trend continued in both 2024 and 2025. Piastri came out on top two years ago before teammate Norris took top spot in Hungary a year later. Norris’ victory was McLaren’s 200th Formula One win and set him on his way to claiming his maiden world title.

When is the Madrid Grand Prix?

For the first time in 45 years, the new season will see a Madrid Grand Prix. With the memories of summer still lingering, it’s set to be a scorcher on Sunday 13th September. The new race on the calendar is an exciting addition and it’ll be the home of the Spanish Grand Prix until at least 2035.

A brand new circuit is being built in the Spanish capital, combining street sections with purpose built track. In fact, this is the first year since 2012 that two races will be held in Spain in the same season following the Barcelona Grand Prix in June.

Oscar Piastri won in Spain last year to end a run of three consecutive Max Verstappen victories. But with a brand new course and unfamiliar surroundings, it really could be anybody’s race this time around.

Lando Norris could claim his first ever win in Spain as he looks to defend his Formula One title. The British sensation secured his first Drivers’ Championship in 2025, finishing two points clear of Verstappen to end the Red Bull man’s four-year winning streak.

Sporting Events to Look Forward to in 2026

With the recent arrival of 2026, the sporting calendar is shaping up to be one of the most exciting in recent years. From world-class tournaments on home soil to international events that will dominate the global conversation, fans across the UK have plenty to look forward to.

Whether it’s football under the Wembley lights, the drama of the Six Nations, iconic summer events like Wimbledon and Royal Ascot, or the roar of Formula 1 engines at Silverstone, 2026 promises unforgettable moments across the sporting landscape.

In 2026, ICON returns to some of the UK’s most prestigious venues, where guests enjoy elite sport and first-class hospitality, creating memorable days that go far beyond the action itself.

Here’s our guide to the must-watch sports and events in the UK in 2026.

Football: International Fixtures and a World Cup Year

Football always sits at the heart of the UK sporting calendar, and 2026 will be no different.

For the England national football team, the year will feature a busy schedule of international friendlies and competitive fixtures, many of which are expected to take place at Wembley Stadium. These matches offer fans the chance to see emerging talent alongside established stars as England fine-tune their squad.

Beyond domestic fixtures, 2026 is also a World Cup year, with the tournament taking place in North America. While matches won’t be staged in the UK, the build-up, squad announcements and tournament drama will dominate the sporting conversation at home, with fan zones, screenings and national attention following England’s progress closely.

Rugby: Six Nations and the Nations Championship

Rugby union remains one of the UK’s great winter spectacles, and 2026 brings two major highlights.

The 2026 Guinness Six Nations will once again deliver packed stadiums, fierce rivalries and unforgettable atmospheres. Matches at Twickenham Stadium are always among the most in-demand tickets of the year, with England’s clashes against fellow home nations and European rivals shaping the championship.

Alongside the Guinness Six Nations, the Nations Championship 2026 (often referred to as the Autumns) will see England face top-tier opposition from the southern hemisphere. These fixtures provide a different test and add another layer of intrigue to the international rugby calendar.

Cricket: England Cricket Team in Action

2026 will be another busy year for the England cricket team, with a schedule expected to include Test matches, One Day Internationals and T20 fixtures across the country.

Iconic venues such as Lord’s, The Kia Oval and Emirates Old Trafford will once again host major fixtures, offering fans the chance to experience elite international cricket in historic surroundings.

With English cricket continuing to evolve across all formats, 2026 promises compelling contests and high-profile series throughout the summer.

2026 England International Fixtures:

Tennis: Queen’s Club and Wimbledon

The British tennis summer remains one of the sporting calendar’s great highlights.

The HSBC Championship at Queen’s Club provides the traditional curtain-raiser to the grass-court season. Held in West London, it attracts many of the world’s leading players and offers fans an intimate, fast-paced tennis experience.

Shortly after, attention turns to The Championships, Wimbledon. As the sport’s most iconic tournament, Wimbledon combines world-class tennis with unmatched tradition, making it one of the most anticipated events of 2026, whether you’re courtside or following every point from home.

Formula 1: British Grand Prix at Silverstone

Few events capture the speed and spectacle of modern sport quite like Formula 1 at Silverstone

The Formula 1 Pirelli British Grand Prix returns to Silverstone Circuit in 2026, bringing with it packed grandstands, passionate crowds and high-stakes racing. As the spiritual home of British motorsport, Silverstone consistently delivers one of the most atmospheric weekends on the F1 calendar.

With new rivalries and evolving teams, the 2026 British Grand Prix is set to be a standout moment in the motorsport year.

Horse Racing: Cheltenham Festival and Royal Ascot

The UK’s horse racing calendar remains as prestigious as ever.

The Cheltenham Festival returns in March, offering four days of elite jump racing, electric crowds and iconic moments. Few sporting events match the raw emotion and intensity of Cheltenham.

Later in the year, Royal Ascot delivers a very different experience, combining top-class racing with style, tradition and social theatre. It remains one of the most recognisable fixtures in the British sporting and social calendar.

Golf: ICON Golf Days, The Open and The Masters

Golf fans have plenty to look forward to in 2026, both internationally and closer to home.

Major championships such as The Open Championship at Royal Birkdale and The Masters will once again capture global attention, with UK audiences following every shot.

Closer to home, ICON Golf Days return at The Grove in 2026, offering premium golf experiences that blend competitive play with outstanding hospitality. These events have become highlights of the corporate sporting calendar, delivering memorable days on world-class courses.

Henley Royal Regatta: A British Summer Classic

Rounding out the summer sporting calendar is the Henley Royal Regatta

Set along the Thames, Henley combines elite rowing with a refined social atmosphere unlike any other sporting event. With immaculate settings, riverside hospitality and a strong sense of tradition, it remains one of the most elegant fixtures of the British sporting summer.

Looking Ahead to a Landmark Sporting Year

From packed stadiums and historic venues to global tournaments and refined summer occasions, 2026 is set to be a standout year for sport in the UK. Whether you’re passionate about football, rugby, cricket, tennis, motorsport, racing or golf, there’s no shortage of moments to mark in the diary.

Lando Norris Wins 2025 F1 World Championship

The 2025 Formula 1 season will be remembered as one of the most dramatic and competitive in recent memory, and at its heart was a breakthrough moment that has reshaped the sport. After years of narrowly missing out and battling at the sharp end, Lando Norris has finally claimed his first F1 World Championship, becoming the 2025 Drivers’ Champion in a nail-biting finale at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

In doing so, Norris ended Max Verstappen’s four-year title reign and delivered McLaren its first drivers’ crown since Lewis Hamilton’s debut title in 2008. Reuters

Here’s a look back at the triumph, how Norris made history, and what it means for Formula 1 in 2026 and beyond.

Historic Title Decider in Abu Dhabi

The landmark moment came at the season finale in Abu Dhabi, where Norris secured the title with a strategic and composed third-place finish. While Max Verstappen took the race win, and McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri finished second on the day, season consistency and a razor-thin margin in the standings made all the difference. Reuters

Norris ended the campaign with 423 points, just two points clear of Verstappen, who amassed 421 across the season. This historic duel brought the championship race down to the final lap of the final race, a rarity in modern F1 and a testament to how tight the competition was across 2025.

The result made Norris the 35th world champion in F1 history, and only the 11th British driver ever to claim the sport’s top prize, a lineage that includes the likes of Jim Clark, Nigel Mansell and Lewis Hamilton.

F1 standings for 2025

Position Driver Team Wins Podiums Points
1 Lando Norris McLaren 18 423
2 Max Verstappen Red Bull  15 421
3 Oscar Piastri McLaren 16 410
4 George Russell Mercedes 319
5 Carlos Leclerc Ferrari 242
6 Lewis Hamilton Ferrari 156
7 Kimi Antonelli Mercedes 150
8 Alexander Albon Williams 73
9 Carlos Sains Jnr Williams 64
10 Fernando Alonso Aston Martin 56

A Season of Momentum and Resilience

Norris’s championship journey wasn’t straightforward. The Briton admitted to early-season struggles with confidence and consistency, particularly in the first few rounds, but he found a rhythm mid-season that carried him into title contention.

Across the year, he matched his own teammate Oscar Piastri with seven race victories, showing remarkable race craft and resilience against relentless pressure from Red Bull’s Verstappen.

McLaren’s championship success was not limited to Norris, the team also clinched the Constructors’ Championship for the second-year running, highlighting a complete and competitive package from chassis to strategy.

What This Means for Formula 1

Norris’s championship marks a major shift in the competitive balance of Formula 1. Following years of dominance by Verstappen and Red Bull, McLaren’s rise, led by a driver who combines speed, intelligence and emotional composure, injects new intrigue into the sport.

With regulation changes planned for 2026, many eyes will be on Norris and McLaren to see whether they can build on this momentum. Rivals like Red Bull, Ferrari and Mercedes are expected to push harder than ever, but the door is now wide open for a new era of unpredictability and excitement.

For British fans, Norris’s title also reinvigorates discussions about the nation’s place in Formula 1’s legacy, continuing Britain’s rich history of producing world champions.

Looking Ahead to 2026 and Beyond

Norris’s victory doesn’t just close the 2025 chapter, it sets the stage for a compelling 2026 season. With tight regulation shifts, new talent rising through the ranks and seasoned stars seeking redemption, F1 looks set for one of its most competitive campaigns yet.

Stay tuned as we continue to bring you exclusive insights, hospitality packages and behind-the-scenes coverage from the world’s premier motorsport.

The Race for the Formula 1 Title Heats Up

We’re into the home straight of the 2025 Formula One season, and the battle for the Drivers’ Championship is at full throttle. McLaren’s Oscar Piastri remains in command at the top of the standings, and with only a handful of races left, it’ll take something special for him to be denied his first world title.

This weekend, all eyes turn to Brazil for the São Paulo Grand Prix, one of the most iconic and unpredictable races of the year. Known for its passionate fans, dramatic weather, and thrilling track layout, Interlagos has long been a stage for chaos, comeback drives, and championship-defining moments.

The São Paulo Grand Prix

Held at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace, the São Paulo Grand Prix has been a staple of the F1 calendar for decades. Set in the heart of Brazil’s largest city, the circuit’s unique elevation changes, tight corners, and long straights make it a true driver’s track, and a favourite among fans.

The event’s atmosphere is unmatched. The grandstands are packed with diehard fans waving the famous green and yellow flags, creating one of the most vibrant scenes in motorsport. Combined with Brazil’s rich racing heritage, from Ayrton Senna to Felipe Massa, Interlagos always delivers something special.

Weather often plays a huge part here too. Sudden showers can flip the script in seconds, leading to unforgettable races, from Lewis Hamilton’s dramatic 2008 title win to George Russell’s emotional first victory in 2022. With forecasts hinting at potential rain once again, we could be in for another classic this weekend.

Last season, Max Verstappen claimed victory in São Paulo, but this time around, it’s McLaren’s duo of Piastri and Lando Norris who arrive as favourites. Norris will be desperate to close the gap on his teammate, while Piastri looks to edge ever closer to championship glory.

F1 standings after 20 races

Position Driver Team Wins Podiums Points
1 Lando Norris McLaren 616357
2 Oscar Piastri McLaren 7 14 356
3 Max Verstappen Red Bull 511 321
4 George Russell Mercedes 2 8 258
5 Charles Leclerc Ferrari 7 210

McLaren’s dominance has defined much of the 2025 campaign, with both Piastri and Norris consistently finishing at the sharp end of the grid. Verstappen remains a threat, but Red Bull have struggled to match the Woking outfit’s consistency this season.

With just a few races to go, Piastri holds a 1-point advantage over his teammate, and every race now counts. The São Paulo Grand Prix could be pivotal. A strong result for Piastri might all but seal his maiden championship, while a Norris win could keep the title fight alive heading into the North American leg of the season.

The 2025 Formula One season has delivered high drama, close battles, and unforgettable moments, and the best may still be yet to come.

At Engage Hospitality, we offer premium F1 hospitality packages at every Grand Prix on the calendar.
