Who Will Headline Glastonbury 2027? The Rumours, The Odds and What We Actually Know

Glastonbury returns to Worthy Farm from Wednesday 23 June to Sunday 27 June 2027 after a fallow year in 2026, and the headline slots are already the most speculated-about bookings in music. Emily Eavis has confirmed all three Pyramid Stage headliners are signed, but she has not named a single one of them. Here is where the rumour mill stands, what the bookmakers make of it, and how you can be on site next summer.

Glastonbury 2027 dates and why there was no festival in 2026 

Glastonbury 2027 runs from Wednesday 23 June to Sunday 27 June at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset. The dates were confirmed by organisers in September 2025.

If the summer just gone felt a little quiet, there is a reason for that. The festival took a fallow year in 2026, the planned break that comes around roughly every five years to let the land recover and give the cows their fields back. No festival took place, no tickets were sold, and the Pyramid Stage stayed in storage.

That break matters for the line-up. Glastonbury has effectively had two booking cycles’ worth of availability to work with, and a full extra year to negotiate with artists who might otherwise have been mid-tour. Demand for a return edition is expected to be enormous, both for tickets and for the headline slots themselves.

The last edition, in 2025, was headlined by The 1975 on the Friday, Neil Young and The Chrome Hearts on the Saturday, and Olivia Rodrigo on the Sunday, with Rod Stewart taking the Legends slot.

What Emily Eavis has actually confirmed

Speaking on BBC Radio 4 in August 2026, Emily Eavis confirmed that all three Pyramid Stage headliners for 2027 have been booked. She also delivered one very firm denial, ruling out Madonna in unusually direct terms despite months of speculation following the release of the singer’s new album.

Eavis has been consistent on one point for years: the vast majority of Glastonbury line-up stories that circulate before the official poster are simply wrong. She has previously put the figure at around ninety-five per cent. Treat everything below, including the betting markets, as informed guesswork rather than inside knowledge.

What we can say with confidence is that the deals are done, the acts know who they are, and the announcement is a matter of timing rather than negotiation.

Glastonbury 2027 headliner odds: the current favourites 

Bookmakers price up the Glastonbury market as “to headline any night on the Pyramid Stage”, which means three winners rather than one. That is why so many names sit at relatively short prices.

Sam Fender

The market’s favourite, and the one that makes the most obvious sense. Fender has spent the past few years building the kind of catalogue that fills a field: a Mercury Prize, multiple BRIT Awards, and a run of stadium and arena shows that proved he can hold a crowd of that size. He should also have new material by next June. If Glastonbury wants a homegrown Friday-night headliner who feels like a genuine coronation rather than a safe bet, he is the frontrunner for a reason.

Taylor Swift 

The great unfinished story. Swift was booked to headline in 2020 for the festival’s fiftieth anniversary, only for the pandemic to wipe out the edition entirely, and she has never played Worthy Farm. She remains one of the biggest touring artists on the planet and almost certainly sits near the top of any Glastonbury wish list. The question has always been scheduling rather than appetite, which is precisely why a post-fallow-year edition with extra booking runway is the strongest window she has had.

Ed Sheeran

Sheeran has headlined before, closing the festival in 2017, and he is one of a small handful of British artists who can fill the Pyramid Stage field on name alone. A return would be less of a cultural event than a first-time booking, which may count against him in a year where Glastonbury will want statement moments. The short price reflects reliability more than intrigue.

Oasis 

The romantic pick. The reunion tour reignited global interest in the band, and Worthy Farm would be a fitting stage for a group whose only previous headline set, back in 2004, is generally remembered as an underwhelming night. There is a redemption arc here that Glastonbury’s booking team would understand better than most. Whether the Gallaghers want it, and whether their own touring plans allow for it, is another matter entirely.

Harry Styles

Styles has never headlined Glastonbury, which is faintly remarkable given his profile, his Coachella headline experience, and his record-breaking Wembley Stadium residency. Bookmakers have moved him around a great deal over the past year, from odds-on with some books to a mid-range price with others. That volatility tells you more about rumour cycles than about genuine information.

The Wildcards

Beyond the front-runners sit a genuinely broad field. Little Simz and Wolf Alice both represent the kind of critically adored British booking Glastonbury has historically rewarded with a step up. Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter reflect how quickly the pop landscape has reshaped since the last festival. Fred again.. would be an unusual but not unthinkable dance-led headliner. Radiohead, Fontaines D.C., Muse and The Rolling Stones have all featured in speculation, with the Stones prompting particular attention after both Mick Jagger and Keith Richards hinted at touring again in 2027.

And then there is Madonna, who despite topping several markets over the summer has now been ruled out about as plainly as Glastonbury ever rules anything out.

The Sunday Legends slot

The Sunday teatime Legends slot is arguably the most beloved booking of the weekend and is priced separately from the main headline markets. Recent occupants include Rod Stewart in 2025, Shania Twain in 2024 and Cat Stevens in 2023.

Robbie Williams has become the name most commonly attached to the 2027 slot, helped along by his announcement of outdoor shows in the week immediately following the festival and by his own past comments about how much he would relish the booking. Elsewhere, Duran Duran have said they would only appear if offered a full headline slot rather than the Legends billing.

As ever, the Legends act is usually announced alongside the main line-up rather than ahead of it.

When will the Glastonbury 2027 line-up be announced?

Glastonbury traditionally reveals its first wave of names in the spring of the festival year. The 2025 line-up was announced in early March, and the full bill followed at the end of May. On that pattern, expect the first 2027 headliners to be confirmed around March 2027, with the complete poster arriving in late May.

That leaves several months of speculation to get through first, and it is worth remembering that headline announcements land after the main ticket sale rather than before it. Anyone buying tickets is doing so on trust.

How to be at Worthy Farm in 2027

Tickets and registration

Registration is free, mandatory and separate from buying a ticket. Everyone aged thirteen or over who wants to attend needs their own valid registration, complete with a passport-style photograph, before they can take part in the sale. Registration is open now via the official Glastonbury site, and existing registrations can be reused, although it is worth checking yours is still valid.

Demand is the obvious problem. Press estimates have put recent demand at roughly two million people chasing around 200,000 places, and a post-fallow-year edition is widely expected to be the most oversubscribed sale yet.

Glamping and premium accommodation

Camping is part of the Glastonbury tradition, but it is not for everyone, particularly if you are attending with clients or colleagues.
