NFL London 2026: A First Timer’s Guide to American Football Hospitality in the UK

American Football Monday October 5, 2026 By: Joe Horne 6 min read

American football has a real home in London. Every October, NFL teams cross the Atlantic to play regular-season games that count towards the standings.

If you are new to the sport, or new to watching it from a hospitality lounge, this guide covers what you need to know about NFL London 2026 hospitality.

You will find a report on the opening game, a look at the two fixtures still to come, a quick explainer of the rules and practical tips for your day at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium or Wembley Stadium.

American football in five minutes

You do not need to know every rule to enjoy your day. A few basics will help you follow the flow.

Each team has 11 players on the field. The aim is to move the ball into the opposition’s end zone, either by running with it or passing it.

The attacking team has four attempts, called downs, to gain 10 yards. Make it and the count resets. Fall short and they usually kick the ball away on fourth down, or try for a field goal if they are close enough.

Here is how scoring works:

  • Touchdown: six points for getting the ball into the end zone.
  • Extra point: one point for a kick after a touchdown, or two points for a two-point conversion.
  • Field goal: three points for kicking the ball between the posts.
  • Safety: two points for tackling an opponent in their own end zone.

Games have four 15-minute quarters, but the clock stops often. Expect around three hours or more from kick-off to the final whistle.

Keep an eye on the big screens. A graphic such as “3rd & 4” tells you the offence is on its third attempt and needs four more yards.

Wondering why the crowd gets louder at certain moments? Third down is often the key play of a drive, and home fans make noise to disrupt the visiting offence.

NFL London 2026: the two games still to come

Both remaining games feature the Jacksonville Jaguars, who play back-to-back home games in London as the designated home team. Both games kick off at 14:30 BST.

Philadelphia Eagles v Jacksonville Jaguars: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Sunday 11 October

This is the Eagles’ first trip to London since 2018, when they beat the Jaguars 24-18 at Wembley. It is only their second regular-season game in the UK.

Jacksonville arrive as defending AFC South champions and have made a strong start to the season. They know London well, with this their fourth game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Philadelphia have had injury problems. Running back Saquon Barkley left their Week 4 defeat to the Los Angeles Rams with a hamstring injury, so his fitness is one to watch in the build-up.

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was designed with the NFL in mind. Its grass football pitch slides away to reveal a dedicated synthetic surface for American football, which makes it a good venue for your first game.

What does NFL hospitality include?

Hospitality gives you a reserved seat and a lounge to return to, with food and drink taken care of. It suits client entertaining, team days out and anyone who wants the whole day organised for them.

Houston Texans v Jacksonville Jaguars: Wembley Stadium, Sunday 18 October

The series closes at Wembley with an AFC South divisional game. Division rivals meet twice every season, so there is real familiarity and edge to this one.

It is the Texans’ first international game since 2019, when they beat the Jaguars 26-3 at Wembley. For Jacksonville, it is a 12th game at the national stadium, which they have treated as a second home for more than a decade.

Engage offers ICON hospitality for this game in a glass-fronted Pitchview facility inside Wembley Stadium, alongside Premium Tickets on Level 2.

First timer tips

Pack light. Wembley only allows small bags of A4 size or smaller, with no bag storage on site. Check the latest stadium guidance before you travel to Tottenham.

Bring a card. Wembley is cashless, so you will need a card or contactless payment for the cash bar and concourse.

Wear your colours. NFL crowds in London wear shirts from all 32 teams, not just the two playing. Check your booking confirmation for any package dress code.

Layer up. October afternoons in London can turn cold, especially once the sun drops behind the stands.

Use the breaks. Stoppages and TV timeouts are frequent, which gives you plenty of time to chat with guests without missing the action.

Pick a team. Even a loose allegiance for the afternoon makes every third down more fun.
