Sam Thomas Racing Package

We’re delighted to introduce the Sam Thomas Racing Package, a fantastic bespoke racing experience that combines a unique opportunity to spend time with the man himself.

Sam Thomas is a former Welsh National Hunt jockey and has now transitioned into a successful career as a horse trainer. His notable achievement includes securing victory in the 2008 Cheltenham Gold Cup aboard Denman. Throughout his tenure as a jockey, Thomas clinched 509 victories, amassing a substantial £5.59 million in prize money in Great Britain, along with an additional €255,815 in earnings from races in the Republic of Ireland.

After retiring, Thomas obtained his trainer’s license and now operates from Lisvane in Wales. He runs a 35-box yard that belongs to businessman Dai Walters, known for his previous ownership of Ffos Las Racecourse. Among Thomas’s standout achievements as a trainer is guiding Iwilldoit to victory in the 2021 Welsh Grand National held at Chepstow Racecourse.

We filmed just before the 2023 Cheltenham Festival, so there we spoke at length with Sam on some of his favourite memories about the famous festival
