With entertainment expected throughout the whole day, this is the full American experience right in the heart of England’s capital. There’s two games in the series between the two sides, who both have World Champion pedigree. The Mets last won the World Series back in 1986, whilst the Cubs won in 2008.
The MLB London Series is an initiative by Major League Baseball (MLB) to host select regular season games at London Stadium in London, England. Originally slated for 2019 and 2020, the series marked the first-ever MLB contests played in Europe.
The inaugural 2019 games featured the Boston Red Sox hosting two matches against the New York Yankees. Unfortunately, the two planned 2020 games between the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2022, MLB renewed the arrangement with Greater London for games in 2023, 2024, and 2026. Starting from the 2023 season, the series is now known as the MLB World Tour: London Series, aligning with the new “MLB World Tour” designation for games played outside the U.S. and Canada.
