Tottenham endured a difficult 2025/26, finishing 17th and securing their top flight safety late in a season of upheaval that saw three managers in the dugout. Thomas Frank was sacked in February and Igor Tudor’s brief interim spell followed before Roberto De Zerbi was appointed in March on a long term deal, steering the club clear of relegation. De Zerbi leads Spurs into 2026/27.
Brighton finished eighth in 2025/26 and qualified for the Conference League, another strong season from the Seagulls. The two sides met twice in the 2025/26 Premier League season: Tottenham Hotspur 2-2 Brighton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in April, and Brighton 2-2 Tottenham Hotspur at the Amex Stadium in September.
