England v Iceland 2024

England face Iceland on 7 June 2024 at Wembley as they step up preparations for the European Championships in Germany in the summer.

These two teams last faced each other in the 2020 Nations League, as England managed two victories over the scandanavian side. Iceland didn’t manage to qualify for the Euros after a tough group and will be hoping to have a strong showing at Wembley.

Gareth Southgate has brought this England team on leaps and bounds since his appointment as England manager, with a world-class crop of players and brilliant togetherness providing a great combination to help England progress to the latter stages of tournaments.

England lost out on penalties to Italy in the final of the last European Championship, and narrowly lost out to France in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.  The only further step this team can make is to get their hands on a trophy, and will be hoping to do just that in Germany. That is why this warm up game against Iceland is so important for Southgate and his team.
