2024 Eastbourne International - Day 4

The Eastbourne International is a tennis competition that is part of both the WTA Tour and the ATP Tour. It is hosted at the Devonshire Park Lawn Tennis Club in Eastbourne, United Kingdom. This tournament has been a fixture since 1974 and holds the distinction of being categorised as a WTA 500 series event on the WTA Tour and an ATP Tour 250 series event on the ATP Tour.

Matches in the competition are played on outdoor grass courts, and it is commonly regarded as a “warm-up” tournament for the The Championships, Wimbledon, one of the four Grand Slam events which takes place the following week. Initially, the Eastbourne International was exclusively a part of the WTA Tour, but starting in 2009, it was combined as an ATP Tour event as well.

Jeļena Ostapenko and Petra Kvitová are two previous winners in the women’s tournament, with Madison Keys the reigning champion after defeating Daria Kasatkina in two close sets in 2023. In the men’s side, the American Taylor Fritz has won the men’s side two of the last four tournaments, and Novak Djokovic was a previous winner back in 2017. The current title holder for the men is Francisco Cerúndolo, who beat Tommy Paul in three very close sets in 2023. Martina Navratilova holds the record for the most singles titles, with 11 trophies to her name.
