2024 Australian Open

The Australian Open is the first of the four Grand Slam tournaments of the year, taking place at Melbourne Park. The tournament begins on Sunday 14th Janruary and continues for two weeks.

Novak Djokovic won the men’s title in 2023, after victory over Stefanos Tsitsipas, marking a memorable 21st Grand Slam victory. Djokovic won 3 out of the 4 Grand Slams in 2023, only missing out on Wimbledon in a thrilling final against Carlos Alcaraz. The Serbian star will be hoping to go one better in 2024 and become victorious in all 4 Grand Slams.

On the women’s side of the competition, Aryna Sabalenka won her first ever Grand Slam after defeating Elena Rybakina. It was Sabalenka’s first Grand Slam victory, becoming only the second ever Belarusian to win a major singles title.
