Dress Code

Make sure you come prepared, Ascot has a strict dress code which alternates for the jumps and flats season. For the flats season, racegoers are encouraged to wear their best summer clothes and embrace the occasion. Trainers are not allowed and it is recommended that gentlemen wear a collared shirt, jacket and tie while ladies are recommended to wear a dress, jumpsuit or suit and a hat or headpiece.

Alternatively during the jumps season, although formal attire is encouraged, there are no formal dress codes enforced. However, guests should dress smart and appropriately for the seasons, with racegoers often opting for boots, coats, jackets and winter hats.

When is Royal Ascot 2025?

While the next flat racing season won’t start until next spring, regular Ascot goers will have already marked the dates for next year’s Royal Ascot in their calendars. The five-day festival is one of the most quintessentially British occasions in the world of sport, giving those attending the chance to dress to impress.

Next year’s Royal Ascot takes place in June, just a few months after Royal Ascot Trials Day at the end of April.
