Formula 1 has officially confirmed the 2027 F1 calendar, with 24 Grands Prix taking place across 22 countries and a record-breaking 10 Sprint weekends.

The new season will begin with the Bahrain Grand Prix from 12 – 14 March, before travelling across five continents and concluding nine months later with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix from 10 – 12 December.

For Formula 1 fans already planning their 2027 trips, the confirmed calendar brings together some of the sport’s most famous circuits, major international cities and two returning destinations.

Portugal and Turkey return to Formula 1

There are two notable additions to the 2027 schedule, with both the Portuguese Grand Prix and Turkish Grand Prix returning to the calendar.

Portugal returns at Portimão from 18 – 20 June, having most recently hosted Formula 1 in 2020 and 2021. Istanbul Park also returns from 1 – 3 October, with Türkiye having secured a new agreement to host Formula 1 through to 2031.

Their arrival means there is no Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix or Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort on the 2027 calendar.

Madrid, meanwhile, returns for its second Formula 1 season, with the Spanish Grand Prix taking place from 10 – 12 September.

Record 10 F1 Sprint weekends in 2027

Sprint racing will have an even bigger presence in 2027, increasing from six to a record 10 Sprint weekends.

Bahrain, Australia, Japan, Monaco and Abu Dhabi will all host the Sprint format for the first time. Sprint racing will also feature in Canada, Great Britain, Italy, Brazil and Qatar.

That means almost half of the season will now feature competitive track action across all three days of the race weekend.
