Everton, under David  Moyes following his January return, climbed to a respectable mid-table finish (13th), showing renewed fight under consistent leadership.

Brentford wrapped up an admirable 10th‑place finish in the 2024/25 season. Despite some dips in form and injuries, they remained solid and competitive throughout .

Everton and Brentford met twice last year. In November, their last meeting at Goodison Park ended in a 0-0 draw. In February, the return fixture finished in a 1-1 draw.
