Arsenal had another strong campaign in the 2023/24 season under the leadership of Mikel Arteta, finishing 2nd after a season-long battle against eventual champions Manchester City. They will be hoping to go one better this season and beat Pep Guardiola’s side to the title.

Southampton had a strong season, gaining promotion to the Premier League by beating Leeds United at Wembley Stadium in the Play-off final. It was a tense affair in North London, but Southampton’s 24th minute goal was enough to see them earn promotion.

In the last match between these two sides, a thrilling 3-3 draw was played out at the Emirates Stadium. Two late goals rescued a point for the Gunners but it wasn’t enough as the result put a huge dent in their title hopes. Southampton will be hoping to cause an upset again this time around.
